Filling in the planner

Guide: how to fill in the planner (the link on the dashboard, and in Export) explains every page of the chosen edition, with a filled-in example next to each. It is A4 and printable: print it once and keep it at the front of the binder, or give it to someone starting their planner.

The guide

The guide follows the template and the edition: choose them in its toolbar. The Basic guide shows Basic pages, the Recovery Edition guide explains HALT-B, triggers and the crisis plan, and Week by Week has a guide of its own. The optional Mindfulness pages are always explained, and the Productivity module has a chapter at the end.

Switch on Example filling in the Preview or in Export to print grey handwritten entries and short notes on every page. It is meant for showing someone how to use the planner; leave it off for the planner you will write in.

  • Keep it short. A few words per box is enough. An empty box on a hard day is fine too.
  • Mornings: three priorities. Not a to-do list; the three things that make the day good.
  • Evenings: one honest sentence. What happened, what helped, what you are grateful for.
  • Each week and month, look back. The reviews only ask about what the days collected.
  • Recovery Edition: fill in the crisis section with your therapist, while you are calm; it is written for the moment when you are not.
